Sustainable Bathroom Swaps | Three simple eco-friendly bathroom swaps

I'll always say that the bathroom is one of the easiest rooms to make sustainable swaps. With all the body, skincare and cleaning products that we use in a bathroom there's always items you can look at to switch to a more eco-friendly alternative.

Over the years I've experimented with different sustainable bathroom swaps and figured out what does and doesn't work for my lifestyle.

So take my recommendations with a pinch of salt. Not everything will work for you. Maybe some of these items you don't even use! Don't purchase a sustainable item just because you saw it on your feed - only purchase it is it's something that you'll use and fits with your lifestyle.

With that disclaimer out of the way, here are my three simple sustainable bathroom swaps!

1) Sustainable Skincare

I'm no skincare expert. Honestly, I barely moisturise my face most mornings, BUT I've fallen in love with Amaranthine. I did discover them through a gifted partnership, but I'm so glad I did! I tried their Minis Bundle and was instantly a fan of their Facial Oil which has actually won a few awards. It was also my first time trying a Cleansing Balm and now I'm a convert - it smells divine and leaves your face feeling moisturised after cleansing rather than dry and tight.

Amaranthine are a cruelty free sustaianble skincare company based in Scotland that use all natural ingredients, sourcing organic and Fairtrade where they can. They're also the FIRST skincare company in the world to attain a Certified Palm Oil Free trademark! If skincare is your thing and you're looking to make your routine more sustainable than definitely check out Amaranthine!

2) Sustainable Cleaning

Keeping your bathroom clean is super important but many of the cleaning products we buy in our local supermarket are either packaged in wasteful plastic or full of toxic ingredients. That's why I love OceanSaver as they offer plastic-free, non-toxic and cruelty-free cleaning products! Their EcoDrops allow you to reuse your cleaning bottle again and again, reducing your plastic waste. They clean just as well (if not better!) than your everyday household brands that even my housemates at University became OceanSaver converts. Try their Everyday Essentials Starter Kit and start your plastic-free cleaning journey today.

3) Sustainable Toilet Roll

Did you know, 27,000 trees are cut down each day to make toilet paper? I first came across Bazoo at a sustainable business show and loved what they were about - being started by two University of Exeter grads! Bazoo is the world's first and only carbon negative toilet paper. The toilet roll is sustainably made out of bamboo pulp (a grass) which uses 65% less carbon emissions than regular toilet paper! It's completely plastic-free and only uses recycled and recyclable packaging. I also love that they donate 10% of their profits to the Rainforest Trust UK and JustOneOncean. Making a switch to a plastic-free, sustainable toilet paper couldn't be easier especially with FREE UK delivery!
