If you're new to All Things Green you might not know that I've been running this business for nearly 3 years (July baby🎂)! In that time a lot has changed. I went from doing All Things Green full-time during the first lock down, to running it alongside completing a full-time degree, to stepping back slightly whilst working full-time at my placement in digital marketing. And now I'm running it again alongside the final year of my degree and my two freelance social media manager roles. It's been a wild ride to say the least!
What I hope to convey with that trip down memory lane, is that I've nearly always managed All Things Green whilst juggling something else, which is why being organised is key! My friends and family will tell you I'm a *little* obsessed with organisation - I'm the (self-titled) organisation queen 👑
You honestly won't see me without my handy paper planner, or my Google calendar, or my digital to-do lists. They're a part of me now!
It's how I do all of what I just mentioned, without going insane. And you're in luck, because I'm going to let you into the secrets of how I manage my hectic (but amazing) life...
Day To Day
As I've mentioned, I love a paper planner! Call me old school, or terrible for the planet, but my brain works best (and calmer) when I can write and cross things out. Writing out my tasks helps me visualise my day and be clear on my priorities.
Every Sunday I sit down and plan out my week. I already have a weekly timetable that has time-blocks for my studies, work and All Things Green work. In my planner I input these times, any meetings I have and allocate tasks off my digital to do list's (see below) into the All Things Green and work time-blocks. It may sound like doubling up, but my weekly timetable is an overview whereas my planner is a specific guide for each day.
All Things Green Work
When it comes to managing All Things Green I use a variety of platforms. This is because I have multiple channels; my social platforms, website and mailing list!
My favourite platforms for organising my All Things Green posts (across Instagram and TikTok) and my running digital to do list is Trello*. It's where I create my monthly content calendar**, and then I use Meta Business Suite*** to schedule my Instagram posts. My TikTok posts I upload manually.
I use Wix to host my website and these blog posts, and Klaviyo to send out my monthly email newsletters.
* I use the free plan, but there are paid plans available
** Purchase my monthly content planner template to use for your Instagram page, here (only £15!)
*** Unlimited and free Instagram and Facebook posts scheduling
Client Work
I currently work for two different sustainable companies, managing various aspects of their digital marketing.
For one company, I use Trello for planning their monthly social content (inc. Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn). For the other, I use Notion* to plan all the content (Instagram, TikTok and Newsletters) and I've fallen in love with it! So much so I'm considering moving my All Things Green planning onto Notion.
For scheduling I use Later** for both brands. Later is great at helping you re-purpose content across multiple channels and their mobile app is perfect for posting content on the go. I highly recommend!

My Top Organisation Tips
1) Simplify - Try to minimise the amount of products and services you use. Look for ways to consolidate everything in one area or platform.
2) Time Blocking - Use time blocks to organise your day. Try and group similar tasks together so you can maintain a flow between tasks and stay productive.
3) Colour Code - Help make sense of your calendar by colour coding similar tasks or task themes. Use these same colour categories everywhere.
I hope this post has shown you the many ways you can better organise your time so you can be more productive and spend more time on the things that actually matter!
